There is nothing more magical then having a friend who is literally a Unicorn, until that friend gets married!
This fall, my lovely friend Gillian got married to the love of her life in our hometown of Edmonton, Alberta. She had just over 100 guests at the Royal Glenora Club, and they did not spare any expense to ensure their guests had an amazing time. However, a lot of brides are frustrated that they invest in a stunning gown, only to wear it once. So, we took advantage of her intricate lavender Maggie Sottero dress and organized a styled shoot in the beautiful river valley of Edmonton. The story behind this shoot actually began back in July, when I had surprised Gillian for her bachelorette party with a totally gorgeous Unicorn head piece I made her by hand. Did you know Pink Blush also has unique one of a kind body cages? I love making pieces for my clients to play with in the studio! In any case, Gillian obviously loved her custom unicorn headband, and we knew it would see a lot of time with my camera. Once I saw her in her dress on the big day, my creativity got going.
I had a vision to capture Gillian in her dress, in the snow, with her cute little headpiece, and her stunning white husky Lexi. I had taken quite a special shot of Lexi during her engagement photos with Sean, where we first realized we had a doggy supermodel on our hands with her striking mismatched blue and brown eyes. We had almost all of the pieces for a styled shoot together, but we were missing a little something extra (because we all need to be a little "extra", am I right?). For that final piece, we knew that FaBLOOMosity - who had done the florals for Gillian's wedding - could really turn our some stunning work . We reached out to them, and they were amazing enough to put together a sweet little wreath for Lexi, and even a matching hair piece for us to play with. By the way, if you are a bride looking for unreal flower arrangements, they are by far one of the best Edmonton has to offer; Gillian's bouquets and centerpieces were jaw dropping.
