E-Invite or Snail Mail?

So the man of your dreams has finally popped the question and it’s time to start planning the big day. One of the first steps is alerting your guests with a save the date and a wedding invitation. Which brings me to my dilemma, to send out an e-invite or not?

In this day and age, times are changing so quickly and it’s hard to keep up with whats what. Although it seems everything is switching to electronic these days, wedding invites are still up for debate. The thought of saving potentially hundreds to thousands of dollars on invites is definitely tempting, but do you want to give your guests the wrong idea about your big day?

Sending out e-invites for your wedding will save money and eliminate paper waste but unless you are that granola couple who compost regularly, your guests might look at it as cutting corners and being cheap. If you are looking to ease the environmental impact, you can always opt for eco-friendly paper and request that guests recycle the invitations if they choose to throw it away. Printed invites are more personal, formal and they can set the tone for your day. Plus, in this electronic time, peoples e-mail inboxes are constantly flooded and you don’t want your invite to get lost in the shuffle of spam and newsletters.

So to ease the risk of looking tacky and cheap, we suggest to bite the bullet and send out printed invites. Besides, you’re only going to get married once, you might as well make it the best experience possible and avoid cutting corners.
